  4. Department located in a beautiful and inspiring surroundings of the Renaissance castle • All the necessary equipment for work, including the GIS laboratory • Students take a big advantage of the equipment during the education process (lectures, seminars, work on thesis)

  5. Examples of research projects with studentparticipation • No. 2B08006 New approaches to enable effective research practices for remediation and reclamation of devastated areas • No. QH82106 Reclamation as a water regime recovery tool of the landscape after surface mining of brown coal

  6. Overall goals of the projects • To analyse present state and functions of the post-mining landscape. • To integrate a holistic scientific approach to landscape features in the reclamation procedures. • On the basis of scientific outputs to propose a conceptual scenario of the total rehabilitation of the landscape.
