History • Google Docs originated from two separate products, Writelyand Google Spreadsheets. • Word - Writelywas a web-based word processing application created by Upstartle- 2005 • Spreadsheets - XL2Webproduct - 2Web Technologies in 2005 - Google Labs - 2006 • February 2007 - Google Docs was made available to Google Apps users • March 7, 2010 - DocVerse- an online document collaboration company, was acquired by Google -allows multiple user online collaboration on Microsoft Office compatible document • September 29, 2011, Google Docs supports offline viewing • April 24, 2012, Google Launched Google Drive

Create and store graphs in Google Drive. • DocuSign – Productivity – Get signatures on documents stored in Google Drive and save signed documents back to Drive. • Floorplanner – Creative Tools – Create and edit floorplans from your browser. Dropbox/Skydrive/Sugar sync/iCloud Dropbox: • Storage service - focuses on synchronization and sharing • Officially launched at 2008 • It supports revision history. Skydrive: • File hosting service - Allows users to upload and sync files to a cloud storage and then access them from a Web browser or their local device.
