Major highlights presented at 2010 meeting: • New IOTA Google page for past Occultation Newsletter issues: • http://groups.google.com/group/iota_us • New IOTA Google page for Journal of Occultation Astronomy (JOA): https://sites.google.com/site/iotaoccultations/home/journal-of-occultation-astronomy?pli=1 • Michael Busse of IOTA/ES, Editor/Publisher of JOA • Dave Herald showed updates to the Occult program including completing the archive of all known Lunar occultation observations. Dave Gault and Ken Coles – 3,618 grazes archived with 193 new ones found

  4. New IOTA Middle East Sectionhttp://www.iota-me.com/ • 1st meeting was in Gonbad, Iran, Nov. 17-19, 2010, 74 persons attended

  5. Frank Suits describedhis continuing research/development into the low cost  AllTimer video system. • Richard Nugent describedhis use of an overlooked feature in LiMovie to measure double stars. A paper was just published on this technique in JDSO for July 2011 issue • Russ Genet and Bruce Holenstein presented their design for a portable 1-meter class telescope that can be used for occultations. Discussion group: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/AltAzInitiative/ • Steve Conard proposed an idea to create an Astronomical League (AL) observing award for occultations. • Bruce Berger brought his highly portable occultation system (named SCORE, Self Contained Occultation Recording Equipment) and demonstrated it use.

David Dunham summarized the expeditions of the French for the July 11, 2010 total eclipse and Richard Nugent summarized results of his, Paul Maley and Chuck Herold’s efforts on recording Baily’s Beads for IOTA • Ron Dantowitz, Clay Science Center’s Director talked about “Dynamic Astronomy”. He explained that the Clay Science Center is geared mainly toward education/research activities for younger students in the local Boston metro area. • Scotty Deganhardt presented his research entitled: “Io and Europa’s Atmosphere ad Io Torus Detection through Occultations and Conjunctions
