  1. IT for an Agricultural Business R H Donger & Sons

  2. What’s Required • To develop a solution to the ever growing problem in arable farming. • The problem is that; there is no affective software on the market that helps an arable farmer with administration, amongst other business functions. • The system will help to battle paper based storage of information and minimizing administrative workloads.

  3. Objectives • Create a lengthy list of requirements.  • Design stage diagrams such as use cases, state diagrams, activity diagrams etc. • Produce a static system that will show the look of the system if it was to become dynamic, perhaps including some VBA or HTML depending on how the system would be made best. • Have regular meetings with the client and show minutes. • Produce a project management website for the project. • Create an example database. • Gather a lot of data on the fields to be stored in a database. • Communicate with the agronomist to gather useful information. • Look if other software does what I hope and differentiate the product to make it more customized.

  4. Basic Initial Project Plan

  5. Project Management Website • I aim to use WordPress • Free and enables enough functionality • I will create a website in which you can access and check on my progress, I may ask you to check a deliverable that I have posted for feedback.

  6. Static system • Proposed navigation

  7. Database • Initial thoughts towards the database;

  8. Project Success In order to judge whether the project has been a success; • Idea useful for business processes • Future investment to go away and develop the system as a business idea. • The norms (Meet proposed deadlines, Communicate effectively, overall happiness of client)

  9. What we’ll be doing today!

  10. Requirements Capture Done throughout; • Initial needs analysis • After competitor system analysis • After the static system analysis • Further ideas

  11. Competitor system analysis • To analyse the system that RHDS use and record likes and dislikes. • Helps gather more system requirements. • A good way to get hands on with the system and see for myself what is needed by RHDS.

  12. Questionnaire • I require you to fill out a questionnaire in order to help me gather your opinions on the current system and how you would wish the new one to be.

  13. Thank you for your cooperation • Have a fantastic Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
