Include the rubric with your paper. Choose one of the questions on the following slide to answer in a short NARRATIVE piece of writing and submit to Mrs. Scow.

  2. Reread page 86 in Alexie’s novel. Has something similar to this ever happened to you or someone you know? Describe the situation and how you/someone else felt. • By seeing himself as a member of many different tribes, Arnold is able to forge a new and meaningful identity. He becomes multi-tribal, which means that he belongs to many different groups. Of what “tribes” are you a member? Describe your identities in each of the tribes. • The power of hope is limitless. If we can still dream, then we can imagine ourselves out of even the darkest situation. Describe why this is true for you or not. • When others believe in you, it's so much easier to believe in yourself. Describe why this is true for you or not.
