  2. Public Assistance Overview FEMA Public Assistance (PA) is a supplemental federal grant program designed to fund emergency protective measures and the repair, restoration, reconstruction or replacement of eligible public facilities and infrastructure damaged or destroyed in a disaster.

  3. Debris Eligibility • Immediate threats to lives, public health and safety • Immediate threats to improved property • Economic recovery of the affected community • Mitigate the risk to life and property

  4. Legal Responsibility • Must have legal responsibility for performance on emergency work • Authority of another federal agency • FHWA • NRCS • USACE etc.

  5. JFO Coordination Group (CG) • ALDOT, AEMA, FEMA, & FHWA • CG will be established shorty after JFO opens. • ALDOT will provide electronic access to local maps noting federal aid roads. • CG will provide local officials road classification guidance. • CG will help with the identification of completed ER related work to facilitate FEMA funded passes. • CG will provide guidance on federal aid and non-federal aid road funding mechanisms
