DELAWARE VALLEY AND PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS: 1 Credit = 1 Full Year Course or 2 Half Year Courses 4 CREDITS OF ENGLISH PASSED 4 CREDITS OF SOCIAL STUDIES PASSED (3 Period Career Technical Student may graduate with 3 SS credits) OF WHICH 1 CREDITSATISFIES 1 CREDIT OF THE HUMANITIES REQUIRED 3 CREDITS OF SCIENCE PASSED 3 CREDITS OF MATHEMATICS PASSED 2 CREDITS OF HUMANITIES PASSED 2 CREDITS FOR 4 YEARS OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION, HEALTH, & DRIVERS EDUCATION (3 Period Career Technical Student may graduate with 1.5 PE credits) 4 CREDITS OF ELECTIVES 21 TOTAL CREDITS MINIMUM NEEDED FOR GRADUATION *HUMANITIES REQUIREMENT SATISFIED VIA PASSING MUSIC, ART, FRESHMAN SEMINAR, OR FOREIGN LANGUAGES

  15. MUSIC ELECTIVES (Half Year Class = ½ Credit) • Music Performance Concert Band Concert Choir Orchestra (Can take for a Full Year = 1 Credit) Student must audition if they did not participate in Middle School

New Courses 2015-2016 • Video Game Design ~ Integrates cross-curriculum and STEM activities ~ Will use HTML code, Adobe creative suite, and web site design concepts ~ Highly recommended that students have sufficient computer experience and an interest in website design • Physical Fitness and Training ~ Focus on nutrition and personal lifetime fitness ~ .5 Credit, does not count as PE credit

NCAA Core-Course Requirementswww.ncaaclearinghouse.net To establish initial-eligibility at an NCAA Division I or II college or university, a "core course" must meet all of the following criteria: • A course must be a recognized academic course and qualify for high school graduation credit in one or a combination of the following areas: English, mathematics, natural/physical science, social science, foreign language, and philosophy. • A course must be considered four-year college preparatory by the high school (Concept level classes do not apply). • A mathematics course must be at the level of Algebra or a higher level mathematics course.*** It is the student’s responsibility to monitor NCAA course eligibility ***
