  2. Who is John Brown. • He was born in the 1800. • He died 1859 • He was Hung in West Virginia. • He was 59 when he died. • He was hung for raids and massacre. • John Brown wanted to end slavery for good.

  3. Who and why did they attack. He lead the Pottawatomie Massacre. He killed five settlers and his partners were five men from the Pottawatomie rifles helped him. He also lead the raid in Harpers Ferry. He planned to give the slave weapons and to cause a up raise and he did but he was defeated by Robert E. Lee and his forces.

  4. When and Where did they attack • The Harper Ferry raid was in 1859 In Virginia. The raid took place in October 16-19 it was a three part attack. First to find and capture a city, second To find and raid the armory, and third was the final attack when the slaves wre given weapons and told to help fight but then wiped out by General Robert E. Lee forces

  5. When and where did they attack continued. • In 1856 on the night of May 24 to the morning of May 25 was the Pottawatomie Massacre . Five settler were killed and John Brown lead it.

  6. How did this help start the Civil war • Because of Pottawatomie Massacre and the Harper Ferry raid it started many people to take sides with slavery and electrify the country. He was Hung 1859 in Virginia on charges of five murders and treason. His death was one of the biggest influences towards the civil war.
