  2. Goals Of The Project • Integrate a cultural dimension into the classroom • Develop ICT competencies • Participate in a provincial project

  3. The Project Main Goal Invite the students of Quebec to create podcasts in which the content has a cultural connection and is shared using mobile technology.

  4. The Project Expected outcomes To create audioguides for the BaladoWeb site. The students produce podcasts that present a cultural aspect of their neighbourhood, their town, their environment, their region (e.g. works of art, monuments, historical sites, points of interest, etc.)

  5. The Project Characteristics of the podcasts • present a cultural aspect of their region • timing : 1 to 4 minutes • can include still images (enhanced podcast) • information needs to be reliable and accessible

  6. The Project Possible Styles News report, game, treasure hunt, dialogue, inquiry, interview, publicity, etc.

  7. The Project How is it managed? On the BaladoWeb site: • management tools for students, teachers and RÉCIT; • podcasts organised by region on a map of Quebec; • each podcast linked to a QR Code.

Calendar • June 2011 : announcing the project (virtual RECIT meeting) • September 2011 : launch the project (in your school board) • February 2012 : Culture Month (MELS), a good starting point of the project in the classroom • April 30, 2012 : deadline for uploading the audioguides on the Website • May 30, 2012 : drawing of a surprise prize! • June 2012 : official public launch of the site - • Tuned In To Culture!
