  2. RootServers in the Asia Pacific Region 2 APNIC has supported Root Server deployments since 2002. The aim of this project has been to substantially improve internet reachability and response times in our region. This has direct benefits on ISPs and end-users alike. APNIC funds equipment and initial installation costs. The host funds datacenter rack space and all transit costs. 25 Root Servers instances funded partially or in full by APNIC. 14 F-root, 8 I-root, 3 K-root.

  11. RootServer Projects for 2012? 11 • Complete rebuild of F-Root installation in Chennai. 3 servers and 2 routers. MARCH • APNIC will be trialing a small form factor f-root installation in Dhaka. 1 router & 1 server. MARCH • Cost effective solution for developing countries with low traffic. • Rebuild of F-Root installation in Hong Kong. AUGUST • Router replacements for F-Root Korea. AUGUST • Minor service work at I-Root & K-Roots installations around the region. • 2 new sites are in negotiation more info at APNIC 34.
