  2. Internet คืออะไร? • เครือข่ายคอมพิวเตอร์ขนาดใหญ่ที่ทำการเชื่อมต่อคอมพิวเตอร์หลายล้านเครื่องกว่า 130 ประเทศทั่วโลกเข้าด้วยกัน มีบริการต่าง ๆ ให้เลือกใช้มากมาย เช่น E-mail, E-commerce, FTP, ข้อมูล ฯลฯ

  5. บริการที่สำคัญบน Internet • WWW (World Wide Web) เป็นบริการทางด้านข้อมูลข่าวสารหลากหลายรูปแบบ รวมทั้งข้อมูลแบบ Multimedia ง่ายต่อการใช้งาน โดยระบบฐานข้อมูลแบบ Client Server เครื่องที่ให้บริการข้อมูล เรียกว่า Server ส่วนเครื่องที่เรียกข้อมูลมาแสดงเรียกว่า Client โดยเรียกผ่านโปรแกรม Browser

  6. FTP (File transfer Protocol) เป็นบริการที่ให้ผู้ใช้เครือข่ายสามารถรับ-ส่งไฟล์ข้อมูลทุกรูปแบบระหว่าง Client กับ Server • Gopher บริการข้อมูลรูปแบบแรกเริ่มบนเครือข่าย Internet ปัจจุบันมีผู้ใช้บริการน้อยมาก หลังจากมีบริการ WWW • E-mail บริการรับ-ส่งจดหมายอีเล็กทรอนิก ซึ่งเป็นที่นิยมมาก ประหยัดและรวดเร็ว ปัจจุบันมี

  7. ผู้ให้บริการฟรีจำนวนมาก เช่น Thaimail.com Hotmail.com chaiyomail.com เป็นต้น เราสามารถขอสมัครเป็นสมาชิก ซึ่งจะได้ E-mail address เช่น rnarumon@hotmail.com • Search engine เป็นบริการค้นหาข้อมูลที่ต้องการบน Internet โดยการใช้คำสำคัญส่งให้ search engine ค้นหา เช่น

  9. Hardwareที่จำเป็น • เครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ 1 ชุด • อุปกรณ์เสริมเพื่อเชื่อมโยงกับเครือข่าย (NIC or MODEM) • คู่สายโทรศัพท์ 1 หมายเลข

  10. Softwareที่จำเป็น • ระบบปฏิบัติการ Windows • Browser เช่น Netscape, IE • โปรแกรมช่วยงานอื่น ๆ เช่น Telnet, FTP • โปรแกรมป้องกันสิ่งไม่เหมาะสม

  11. ให้ปรากฏบนจอภาพของเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ขณะที่เด็ก ๆ ใช้ internet อยู่ เช่น Cyber Patrol, KinderGuard, X-Stop, Net Nanny, The Internet Filter

  12. การเลือกบริษัท ISP(Internet service provider) • มั่นคง • บริการหลังขายดี • ระบบความปลอดภัยสูง • เทคนิคล้ำหน้า • ราคาเหมาะสมกับบริการ

  13. การต่อเชื่อมกับ ISP • สมัครเป็นสมาชิก จะได้ User account • ติดตั้งอุปกรณ์สื่อสารเข้ากับเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ (ต่อ Modem เข้ากับคอมพิวเตอร์ และคู่สายโทรศัพท์) • ติดตั้งโปรแกรมเชื่อมต่อเครือข่ายโดยผ่านเครือข่ายโทรศัพท์

  14. เชื่อมต่อเครือข่ายโดยการหมุนหมายเลขโทรศัพท์ของ ISP (SchoolNet หมุน 1509) • Log in ด้วย User account และ Password • เรียกใช้บริการ WWW ผ่านโปรแกรม Browser • ท่องไปในโลกของ Cyber Space
