  1. New Pixels mechanics discussion Since Atlas upgrade week Philippe Schwemling – Didier Laporte

  2. Evolution of the X0 measurementmethod • CAD plug in developpedfor CatiawithIBM : • Cost : 11 900 € HT • Evolutions wrtprevious technique • Reducedprocessing time • Increasedprecision (no needany more to use intermediate bitmap cutouts) • Increasedlevel of details • Simpler to use, no need of complicated and manualprocedure to definecutoutviews

  3. Someconsiderations on the principle of the X/X0 measurementmethod • Methodis not intended to replace G4. • Materialamountismeasuredonlyalong straight lines • In principle, helixescouldbeenvisaged, but wewanted to keepit simple • No consideration of multiple scatteringeffectsalongtracks • Aimis to have a way to compare quickly designs and objects, staying as close as possible to the CAD reality.

  4. Interface

  5. Output

  6. Example :CAD model from Neal

  7. Results mm Angle

  8. Conclusion • Plug-in alreadytested on a few knowndesigns • First attempts show thatitisveryeasy to analyze new designs underCatia • This workwillbemuchfasterthan in the past.
