The Decorating Club “10 Step Program” • Theme Development session • Paint Technique #1 - Sponging • Paint Technique #2 - Ragging • Paint Technique #3 - Color Washing/Stippling • In-home “Project Kick-off” session • Chosen Paint Technique Refinement session • “30 minute consultation #1 – at Café Décor • Accessory Field Trip • “30 minute consultation #2 – at Café Decor • In-home “Journey’s End” session

  4. Theme Development Session • Session held at Café Decor • Discuss and develop your Project Theme • Learn and apply Storyboarding concepts • Create a Project Specific Portfolio tool • Learn about “Tools of the Trade”

  5. Paint Techniques • Sessions will be held at Café Décor • 3 techniques – Sponging, Ragging & Colorwashing/Stippling • You will learn technique concepts, application and proper use of tools • Must be a Full or Associate Member to participate

  6. In-Home Kick-off Meeting • Session held in your home • Project Overview • Theme • Design elements • Team member assignments • Proposed Calendar & Timeline • Color consult • Paint technique • Color scheme • Textures and patterns

  7. Paint Technique Refinement Session • Session held at Café Décor • Team Review’s Chosen Paint Technique • A quick refresher course for the team on the technique you have chosen • Team Sample Boarding Session • A concentrated focus on the creation of sample boards, based on your Project’s chosen technique and color scheme.

  8. Two 30 minute consultations • Sessions held at Café Décor • Tailored to help meet your needs • Strategically scheduled throughout your Project • Sample consultation: • Color coordination for fabric, flooring, counter tops, cabinets, etc • You provide the samples we provide the guidance.

  9. Accessory Field Trip • Who: • You, Your Team & Sue. • What: • A trip to identify accessories, etc that complement your project theme. • Where: • Waugh Chapel Shopping Center (i.e., Pier One, Home Goods and Marshalls) – Rte 3, Gambrills • When: • Scheduled after the kick-off meeting • Why: • To search for the perfect accessories • How: • We meet at Caribou Coffee then tour the above shops for 2 hours

  10. Journey’s End • Session held at your home • Revisit Your Theme • Review Your Decorative Details • Suggest Your Accessory Placement • Consider Your Finishing Touches • Set Date for Your Project Celebration Party!

  11. Three Alternative Membership Programs Total Program Cost must be paid prior to commencing.

  12. Available Paint Technique Classes Note - Sponging, Ragging and Colorwashing / Stippling are included in DC Program Cost. DC Members are entitled to 10% discount on additional PT Classes.

Each kit contains all of the Basic tools. We also have the Advanced tools available separately.

Membership • Full Member • Has their own project in mind • Ready to begin and lead their project, learn and help the team • Ready to undertake a project • Associate I Member • Has their own project in mind • Ready to begin a friend’s project, learn and help the team • Not ready to undertake their own project • Associate II Member • Does not currently have their own project in mind • Ready to begin a friend’s project, learn and help the team • May have a project of their own in future

  16. Project Team Size • Four to Six Team members, including no less than: • 1 Full Member • 2 Associate Members

  17. How to get started • Complete and submit a DC sign up sheet • Identify and list your Team • Decide on your Project • Set your planned Project Calendar • Pay your program fee • Receive and review your “Decorating Club Starter Kit” • Schedule your “Theme Development” session
