  1. ABSTRACT The Influence of Patient’s Knowledge about Tuberculosis Disease and Anti tuberculosis Drug’s Side Effect Toward Patient’s Adherence at Siti Khodijah Hospital Sepanjang - Sidoarjo. Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) disease remains a health problem in Indonesia and many other developing countries. There are some reasons why this disease is difficult to be eradicated. One of the problems is the patient’s adherence to finish their medication. This study was done to see the influence of patient’s knowledge about TB disease and side effects of oral anti tuberculosis drugs toward patient’s adherence. A cross sectional study was performed from May until June 2007 at Siti Khadijah Hospital, Sepanjang, Sidoarjo. patients with pulmonary Tuberculosis Disease and has been treated with oral anti tuberculose (FDC) disease drugs for two month were recruited as samples. The questioners focused on patient’s knowledge about the disease and side effects of the drugs were given to 24 samples. By using linear regression with dummy variable can be seen that patient’s knowledge was one of the factor influencing patient’s adherence. The result showed that Patient’s knowledge about pulmonary TB disease has influenced significantly with the value is 0.005 and 79,2 % patients know about Tuberculosis disease have a very high level of adherence. Meanwhile patient’s knowledge about side effect of the drugs gave the significant value 0,172 and showed the low level of patient’s adherence.
