Conservatism. Liberalism. Legalism. “Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.” Deut. 5:32. Legalism = bind - make laws. Right. Liberal = loosen or go beyond. Left. Conservatism. Liberalism.

  7. Basic error of liberalism • Low view of inspiration and authority • Denies plenary inspiration • Denies miraculous elements

  8. Basic error of liberalism • Liberal may say “I believe that the Bible contains the word of God”. • Difference in saying that the Bible contains the word of God and in saying that the Bible is the word of God.

  9. Gal. 1:11-12 “But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.” “For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

  10. Liberalism Liberalism is that philosophy that seeks to escape the restrictions of the Bible by releasing men from it’s guidelines. The Bible is not the final authority for liberals.

  21. Liberalism • Fails to recognize the difference between matters of faith and matters of opinion. • Treat matters of faith as matters of opinion.
