What do we mean by “Dynamic Graphics”… • Graphics that help us to understand and digest knowledge in a simple and intelligent way. • Graphics that can show moving pictures • Graphics that “speak” clearly to all audiences • Graphics that can use time-series • Graphics that can show multidimensional pictures • Graphics where it is possible to go further into the depths of the data. To be able to go directly behind the graph to interrogate the information in more detail, if so required.

  3. Why we are interested in Dynamic Graphics • To clearly disseminate statistical data as knowledge But…. • It should be easy to plug into OECD.Stat • SDMX-ML • should be clearly presentable on the web • Flash & Flex • should be usable also for publications • Àpollo and PDF

  4. Why Adobe® Flex™ was our choice… • A seminar was help in Rome this year, to scan the market regarding currently available products which use dynamic graphics. What is Adobe® Flex™ ? • Flex™, the most complete application development solution for creating and delivering rich Internet applications within the enterprise and across the web. • Flex™, has a rapid application development (RAD) environment which generates rich flash content for displaying graphical content online.
