  1. Standards and Skills Report Cards • Introduction for New Users

What is the difference between Standards and Skills Report Cards? • Standards report cards automatically figure a grade for each standard assessed • Standards report cards are used primarily for Elementary • But CAN be used in MS/HS • Standards report cards require special customization IF you use Harmony 2 • NO special customization for Harmony 3

  3. What is the difference between Standards and Skills Report Cards? • Skills report cards allow teachers to come up with their own list of skills and then grade each skill on their own • Skills report cards are for Elementary only • This does not require customization our end

  4. Standards Report Cards

  5. Step 1: Setup Enter the standards that you wish to see on the report card for each grade level.

  6. Step 1: Setup The short description needs to stay SHORT!!!

  7. Step 1: Setup For longer wording, use the Full Description field.

  8. Step 1: Setup Add a grading scale called “Standards Profile”. This will calculate the grade for the standards.

  9. Harmony 2 Users:Be sure to contact Harmony to let us know you are using Standards Report Cards!!! Harmony 3 Users:There is NO special customization required!

  10. Step 2: Teacher Grades Select all the Standards that apply to each assignment.

  11. Step 3: Report Cards Teachers will choose “Report Card Standard PDF” if they are in Harmony 3 Teachers will choose to “Create Standards Cards” if they are in Harmony 2

  16. Keys to Making Standards Report Cards Work • Standards must be set at the beginning of the year and not changed • Teachers must make sure to pick the appropriate standards for each assignment • Teachers cannot go back and forth between Harmony 2 and Harmony 3

  18. Step 1: Setup Enter Skills Lists for each grade level and teacher in Classroom…Student Skills.

  23. Step 3: Student Skills Lists To enter the Student Skills Lists in Harmony 2, go to Classroom…Student Skills. Highlight a student name and go to Add…Student Skills.

Keys to Making H2 Skills Report Cards Work • Skills must be set at the beginning of the year and not changed IF you are using Harmony 2 • Students must have a matching subject for each area of the Skills List • Teachers use the same Student Skills list all year long • Skills grades are not automatically calculated. Teachers must manually enter skills grades.

  31. Step 2: KG Student Skills Lists To enter the KG Student Skills Lists in Harmony 2, go to Classroom…Student Skills. Highlight a student name and go to Add…Kindergarten Student Skills.

  35. Keys to Making KG Skills Report Cards Work • KG Skills must be set at the beginning of the year and not changed if using Harmony 2 • Teachers will add a new KG skills list to students each grading period • Teachers manually figure the grade

  37. Harmony 3 Skills Report Cards • The same setup is used for all grade levels, including Kindergarten • Skills CAN be changed mid-year • Subjects are not setup • This doesn’t require customization

  38. Step 1: Setup Enter the main skills lists for each grade in Classroom… Skills by Grade by clicking “New Skills”

  40. Step 2: Student Skills Lists To add the student skills lists in Harmony 3, click on the student name in Classroom… Skills Report Card.

  41. Step 2: Student Skills Lists Enter the skills and comments for each grading period and click “Save”.

  44. Changing Skills Mid-Year Skills can be changed at any point by opening the Skills List in Classroom…Skills by Grade

  45. Changing Skills Mid-Year Make any necessary changes to the wording and click “Save”. If you have already added Student Skills, please do not add additional lines or take out existing lines.

  46. Changing Skills Mid-Year Changes will then be reflected on the Student Skills.
