  2. Beatrix Potter Potter was born on July 28, 1866 in London, England She died on Dec. 22, 1943 • Potter was an author. She wrote many books and also illustrated them. • She had a lonely childhood with her brother as her only friend. She spent most of her free time painting with watercolors. • Potter was educated privately by a governess until she was 18.

  3. Beatrix Potter’s accomplishments • Beatrix Potter is known for the many books she has written, illustrated, and published • She has written over twenty stories including the Peter Rabbitseries, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, Jemima Puddle-Duck, and Benjamin Bunny

  4. Beatrix Potter • Potter was a shy and thoughtful girl • She was an animal lover • She also was the only heir to the cotton fortunes of her parents • Potter was a prize winning Herdwick sheep breeder

Beatrix Potter’s challenges • When Potter was engaged her fiancé passed away suddenly • Even though she was turned away from her dream college because of her gender she kept on progressing • Potter went on to become a famous author even though she had a hard childhood, the sudden death of her fiancé to get over, and being turned away from college for something she couldn’t help

  6. Beatrix Potter’ s Life Potter leaves almost all of her land to the National Trust In Potter’s childhood she spent her free time painting with watercolors. At age 36, Potter’s book, The Tale of Rabbit, was published in 1902 At age 47,Potter marries her solicitor, William Heelis, in 1913 Potter began to show talent in writing stories. Beatrix Potter was born on July 28, 1866 Beatrix began being educated privately by a governess until 1884 Beatrix Potter died on Dec. 22, 1943 Beatrix spent the rest of her life writing, extending her farmland and breeding Herdwick sheep Beatrix got engaged to Norman Warne in 1905 but suddenly and without warning he passed away before their wedding
