  1. Open Programmable Platforms Multi - Services Platform MSP-1010 CSP 2090 CSP 2040 MSP1010

  2. Contents • Positioning & Target Market • Services & Applications • MSP & CSP Hardware

  3. MSP / CSP Positioning The MSP is a media and signaling platform, designed for deployment in legacy or convergent, fixed or mobile networks as a classic service node or service switching point. The MSP is an addition to the CSP family of products, offering a small-footprint, modern, modular design with scalability and a lower entry cost, supported by the familiar Excel API.

  4. Key Attributes • Development Platform - enables technologies and applications. • Open Programmable platform - Application developers can control and manage the resources on the platform through the Excel API interface. • Low entry cost and small foot-print. • Enables a wide range of Applications - MSP supports media processing and different signaling protocols. It enables development of Intelligent Peripheral and service nodes, advanced application servers and signaling applications.

  5. Target Customers & Market • Customers • Carrier Customers - Service providers deploying high value, enhanced voice services for TDM or convergent networks • Partners - Voice and signaling Applications Developers • Market & Applications • Voice based Applications: • Pre-Paid Services • Multi-Ring Back Tone (MRBT) • Interactive Voice Response (IVR) • Conferencing • PBX • Call Center • The MSP fits to distributed architectures, remote locations and CSP extension. • Signaling based Applications: • SS7 Monitoring • SMS app. • IN app. • Signaling GW & converters • Mobile Number Portability • Location Based Services

  6. Intelligent Peripheral & Service Node SSP – Service Switching Point SN – Service Node

  7. ISUP Remote Control • Adding capacity without changing the SS7 network • No additional Point Codes • No additional SS7 links • One MSP terminates the signaling traffic, and maps the signaling to the relevant remote MSP over the Ethernet connection. • Does not break the SS7 redundancy • The controller MSP terminates ISUP traffic and bearer traffic as well. • Enables geographic distribution

  8. SS7 Monitoring (only with MSP) • Up to 64 SS7 links • Supports 5 Application servers • 16 configurable filters (MTP2/3 parameters) • Any link to any filter to any App. Server • Combined live SS7 links with monitoring links • Advanced filtering capability

  9. Passive Voice Recording For Lawful Intercept(Only with MSP) • Passive voice recording for Lawful Intercept • Non-intrusive solution (high impedance spans) • Support of different file formats for recording. • Up to 672 channels

  10. MSP in Signaling Networks

  11. SIGTRAN M3UA (only MSP) • M3UA – Transports SS7 traffic over IP network • Carries ISUP and TCAP traffic • Solves capacity problems in standard SS7 networks. • Support of M3UA Application Server.

  12. Host based SIP • Cantata offers Radvision SIP as a host based stack for MSP & CSP. • There is no integration with SK at this time. The interaction between the App & SIP is done over Radvision APIs. • Main RFC’s: • RFC 3261 - SIP • RFC 2327 – SDP • RFC 2976 – SIP INFO method • RFC 3311 – SIP Update method • RFC 3515 – SIP Refer method • RFC 3265 – SIP specific event Notification • RFC 3428 – SIP extension for instant messages • RFC 3455 – Private Header SIP extension for 3GPP

  13. Embedded SIP & H.323 (only with CSP) • Cantata SIP stack – RFC 2543 • Cantata SIP extensibility: • Custom headers • Custom Extensions to standard SIP headers • Custom SDP attributes • H.323 v2 compliant • Simultaneous GW & Gatekeeper mode • Support of SIP & H.323 redundancy

  14. SwitchKit • A high-level software development environment for MSP & CSP. • Uses C/C++ programming language and eliminate the need to add system-level code for integrating applications. • Reliability – Can operate in hot standby mode, in host redundancy configuration. • Open Service Environment – allows multiple applications to co-operate on the same host computer • Operates with various Operating Systems: • Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, Windows 2K, XP, 2003

  15. SwitchKit Architecture

  16. Operation Administration & Maintenance • Intuitive GUI: • Client View • Displays switch configuration & status information • Provisions the switch • Configures the switch • Creates configuration files • Event View • Shows system alarms • Filters severity and entities • Logs alarms to a file

  17. State 1 Event 1 Function 1 Primitive 3 Primitive 2 Function 2 Function 4 Function 3 Event 1 Event 2 State 2 PPL – Programmable Protocol Language • A graphical tool that provides open protocol customization • Converts State Machine flow chart to a downloadable configuration table. • Ease the creation of local national Protocol Variants. 21. Integrated Media (DSP) Module • High-performance integrated media processing module for media intensive services. • Enables wide range of media processing: real-time file recording, playback, conferencing, echo cancellation, DTMF receiver, tone generation, answering machine detection, fax T.30 and more… • A pooling scheme of media resources assures max utilization of resources • Scalable media resources – you pay only for the resources you need

  22. Integrated VoIP Module • Transcodes PCM coded traffic to packet technology (RTP packets). • Enables codec changes and compression: G.711, G.723.1, G.726, G.728, G.729, iLBC, GSM, AMR, EVRC, QCELP, SMV. • Rich feature set: fax T.38, DTMF relay, fax/modem bypass, adaptive jitter buffer, echo cancellation, silence suppression & comfort noise generation • Up to 2 modules and 1,344 non compressed ports per MSP.

  23. Physical Interfaces • TDM • 32 T1 / 24E1 RJ-45’s • DS-3 • STM-0* • Bearer Redundancy connector • 2 Gig Ethernet for Data • 2 Fast Ethernet for Control • 2 Fast Ethernet for IP Signaling • AC or DC Power Input

  24. Carrier Grade Field Replaceable Unit • Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) changeable without removing entire chassis from rack or removing any cabling • In a 1+1 redundant system, FRU can be replaced without interrupting service • Rack-mounted or stackable
