  3. About the Network • Funded by the Food Stamp program and gifts. • Administered by UW-Extension. • Organizes nutrition education campaigns. • Promotes healthy eating to Wisconsin FoodShare recipients and applicants. • Encourages collaboration among agencies at the local level.

  4. Campaign Objective • To promote physical activity and healthy eating habits, consistent with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, to Wisconsin FoodShare recipients and applicants.

  5. Target Audience • Wisconsin FoodShare recipients and applicants. • Materials are available for the following age groups: • Older adults • Adults 18-64 without children • Families with children • Pregnant women • Youth ages 12-17 • Children ages 8-11

  6. Campaign 2006 Timeline • October 27, 2005 – Training teleconference • Friday, November 18 – Materials orders due • December/January – Materials orders ready • January – August, 2006 – Campaign activities • August 31, 2006 – Evaluations due

  7. A Walk Through the Website • Materials now organized by topic and by age group. • Fewer clicks to find what you want. • Online forms eliminate mail and faxes.

  11. Campaign Materials • Lesson plans, including handouts, on nutrition and physical activity topics • Tipsheet • Interactive display & activities • Measuring cups • Spanish handouts, evaluation and bilingual display. Spanish tip sheet can be downloaded.

New for 2006 • Lessons updated to reflect 2005 Dietary Guidelines and MyPyramid • 3 new sets of lessons: • Balance Food & Physical Activity • Freeze Your Screen/Smart Snacking • What will $5 Buy?/ Physical Activity Doesn’t Have to Cost a Lot • More displays • New Tipsheet • Educational reinforcement—measuring cups with insert

  17. Evaluating Your Activities • Evaluation questions for each lesson. • End of series evaluation for lessons you conduct as part of a multi-session series.

  19. Sharing Results • Email your successes (or lessons from the school of hard knocks!) at any time. • Submit your team’s data online.

  20. Reporting Data • Each partner will submit their own data: • WNEP through the WNEP Reporting System • All others through Network website • Need information about: • Who were your learners? (demographics) • How did you teach them? (educational setting) • What did they learn? (evaluation data) • What indirect contacts did you make?
