  7. Planning survey • Focused on planning & climate change for Local Planning Authorities • Built on IMCORE planning reports • Over 40 respondents • Identified key concerns & possible adaptation options for planning community

IMCORE Severn adaptation guidelines • A guide to help local government around the estuary: • understand the likely effects of projected climate change during the 21st century • plan appropriate responses • Focus on planning Tentative contents: Introduction Future climate change Summary of the science Climate change impacts Implications for key sectors Include scenarios Responding to the impacts of climate change Planning tools Linking planning to other relevant plans e.g. SMPII Ways forward Recommendations

Developing the guidelines: key aspects • Workshops with key local authorities to identify key: • issues from each scenario • adaptation options for each issue • Consultation • Workshop • Electronic consultation with scenario participants • Launch at Severn Estuary Forum Guidelines review Science workstream outputs
