  5. What can it do for government? • Interaction with customers • Timely information to customers • Provide options • Easy to use on the go • Key part of public information/marketing plans • Improve transparency • Affordable!

  6. How do you get started? • What is your goal/strategy • How big do you start • Get your names! • Who maintains • What’s already out there • Create policies • Who will have access if blocked • Make sure your attorney’s know • Follow public records laws

How can you use social media? • At your agency • Getting info out about current budget and budget issues • Tweeting from budget hearings on major decisions and discussions, • Let people know when new info is available or when changes will be happening (new fees, etc.) • Finding ways to explain government finance to constituents • Follow other agencies and groups

  9. How can you use social media? • On your own • Follow what your agency is saying/doing • Networking with your peers • Use it for information/promotion in any personal endeavors (business, groups, family) • Stay on top of what is happening!
