  2. Cómoes? • To ask how someone is (to describe them) we ask “Cómoes Alma?” • We then respond with adjectives! • Alma esbonita.

Using adjectives to describe! • Adjectives describe nouns (i.e. small, tall, big, tall) • Masculine adjectives will end in “o” • Feminine adjectives will end in “a” • Like articles, these will match the nouns in gender AND in number! • Adjectives will FOLLOW the noun. Ejemplos: el chico alto los pantelonesnegros la chicabonitalasfaldasrosadas.

  4. Using adjectives to describe! Many adjectives that end in “e” or a consonant will not change to match gender: el chicointeligente la chicainteligente un chicofuerteunachicafuerte un chicopacienteunachicapaciente

  5. Using Adjectives to DescribeMake the adjectives match the subject • Raúles (comico/comica). • Rosalinda es (paciente). • Alma es (bonito/bonita). • Javier es un chico (guapo/guapa). • Es un perro (gordo/gorda).

  6. Adjectives to Describe • There are a few exceptions to the adjective following the noun: grande, bueno, ymalo. These words may go in front of a noun. • If it is a masucline singular noun the words change to gran, buen or mal. The meaning of gran is “great” instead of large. • Ejemplos: • Un mal estudiente • Un granmeastro.

  7. Ejemplos: choose malo, bueno, or grande. • Es un ________ estudiante. • Alma esuna ________ estudiante. • La Señoraesuna ________ maestra. • El Señores un _______ meastro. • El Señores un ________ policía. • Ellos son unos __________ estudiantes.
