  1. CANADA AND ITS RICH MUSIC CULTURE

  2. OurLady Peace • Is one of Canadians most popular bands. With the success of their song “Superman’s Dead” this band has gone international. Making all Canadians proud. http://www.ourladypeace.com/

  3. GreatBigSea • Alan Doyle, Séan McCann, Darrell Power and Bob Hallett have assembled together to form the traditional, yet diverse Newfoundland group, Great Big Sea. Although there is no single word to describe the unique sound of Great Big Sea, their music is an energetic combination of Celtic rock and sing-along folk, while remaining unmistakably traditional. Bob, the band's multi-instrumentalist, has said Great Big Sea is "a really aggressive folk band that marries traditional Celtic music with modern rhythms." A lot of this music has four or five hundred years of history behind it so when you marry that to modern ideas, you've got something that's already a proven product." • http://www.greatbigsea.com/history.html

  4. Sarah McLachlan • Sarah McLachlan was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1968 and has been on a musical path ever since. • Following years spent studying classical piano, guitar and voice, the singer was discovered fronting a New Wave band in 1985 by the then-fledgling Vancouver-based company Nettwerk Records. • McLachlan has made a career out of putting herself on the line emotionally; fans are repeatedly drawn in to her candor and forthrightness. • Sarah's new album, Surfacing, is no different. As she herself explains it, "Surfacing is about me finally growing up and facing ugly things about myself. We all have a dark side; it's bullshit to say that we don't. At some point we're going to have to face that.” • http://www.sarahmclachlan.com/index2.html

'Let's Talk About Love' is a fifteen song collection of extraordinary performances by Celine, joining forces with some of music's brightest lights. • From humble beginnings in a rural French Canadian home town, Celine Dion has risen to international superstardom like a shooting star. Celine has been called the premier contemporary pop vocalist of the Nineties. She has earned music industry accolades from around the world: Grammy Awards in the US, Juno and Felix Awards in Canada, and World Music Awards in Europe.
