  3. Upgrading of Air Traffic Control facilities 2009 - From Conventional to state of the art modern facilities was installed to provide a better and safe air traffic control service in Maldives. The following equipments were installed Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar(MSSR – with ADS – C) Extended VHF Flight Data Processing system New Radar Simulator New AFTN software system New Control Tower and Area Control center was built Civil Aviation Department - Maldives

  7. Water Aerodromes - Assistance Area Water Aerodromes Standards needs to be developed Establishment of criteria required for the certification of a water airport.

State Safety Programme SSP is identified as Priority item in COSCAP-SA Work Programme Decision of 23rd MAST Meeting: • Formulate a high level management team comprising of key stake holders (Accountable Managers of Air Operators, Aerodrome Operators) and the regulatory body to steer and establish SSP implementation team • Establish working groups to carry the work on behalf of high-level team Civil Aviation Department - Maldives
