  2. Why? Because we know our information. We know that the civil war started on April 12, 1861. It was the big problems with taxation with the north for cotton. It also goes along with: Federal rights, social and economic difference, slave and non-slave proponents, and yes slavery was involved in the civil war.

  3. Lincoln was also another problem with the civil war. He was against slavery and would abolish slavery which would destroy the south's plantation economics. And if he were to be president then it would coast the south a big price for not being able to grow cotton for big money. When Lincoln finally became president the south spilt between the north and became independent. They elected there own president and went from there. Jefferson Davis was there president.

  4. The attack of Fort Sumter After Lincoln became president he sent supplies to Fort Sumter in South Carolina. And warned them to avoid any danger. But Robert Anderson thought it was a trick. Robert Anderson was asked to surrender but refused. Lincoln gave the command to fire shoots at the fort and after awhile they surrendered.

  5. The Confederacy gets more states. As the civil war continued the confederacy needed more people. Four states was then added to help the confederacy. Hopefully with these states the confederacy would now be able to have more soldiers to fight.

  6. The Gettysburg address In June 1, 1863 The speech at Gettysburg by Lincoln. It was also where Senator Charles Summer made a commented Lincolns speech as a “monumental act.” Which then started “the bloodiest battle” and a turning point for the north in the civil war.
