  3. The scope of this project includes upgrading the NMSIIS software to the most current software level, refreshing the hardware platform for all environments, and moving to a SaaS model of support. The end results are extended functionality and full support for all components of the system. The NMSIIS application is fully supported at the most current and stable release of the software. The new system offers bi-directional data exchange capabilities, both in flat file and HL7 format, as well as enhanced tracking and reporting features. NM is now part of a consortium with other states which use the WIR Immunization Registry(WIR) model to collaborate in areas such as enhancements, application features and training. NMSIIS Upgrade and Migration to SaaS Scope Major Accomplishments Key Lessons Learned • The project team did not have a designated testing engineer. Many of the post-production issues that have surfaced could have been prevented with a more thorough and structured testing methodology.

  4. NMSIIS New Features • Bi-Directional Data Exchange: Exchange data with medical providers, vital records and MCO facilities. • H1N1 Tracking: Data collection and reporting of all aspects of H1N1 distribution and dose administration. • Countermeasure and Response Administration Reporting: Reporting module that allows us to provide aggregate counts to the CDC. • Improved Data De-duplication: A more robust algorithm to determine duplicate records in the database. • Strategic National Stockpile Module: Allows us to track and report on PPEs (personal protective equipment) provided by the CDC. • CoCASA Reporting: Data extract module to allow CoCASA-based quality assessment reporting at the medical provider level. • Improved ACIP Tracking Schedule: Allows us to keep track of and send reminders when children are due for vaccinations. • Improved Reminder Recall Mailing Address Verification: Enhanced validation on address fields in the database. • Data Mart: Improved built-in reporting capability and additional ad-hoc query tools • Improved Data Validation on all Data Entry Screens • Improved Vaccine For Children Insurance Tracking • Improved Security: Password Strength, SQL Injection Protection, Improved User/Group Account Hierarchy
