Commissioner – Scope of Role Accountable to Area Commissioner Ensures leaders have service and support to run safe quality program Principal point of contact for Group May delegate chair and other duties to Group Administrator and other members but is still ultimately responsible for Group activities

  4. Commissioner – Scope of Role (con't) Ensure program meets standards Ensure compliance with procedures Maintain positive relationships Delegate duties to manpower required to meet objectives

  5. Commissioner - Membership Membership growth and opportunities Manage VRAD process with Group Promote all program sections Ensure recruitment, orientation and appointment of leaders and Group personnel Involve youth in decision making process

  6. Commissioner - Communications Ensure communications within Group Ensure communications with Area Commissioner and Council Team Build positive relationships with Group, Partner and Area Commissioner team Encourage leader participation in Area roundtables, continual volunteer development, and events management

  7. Commissioner – Program Support Program support at planning meetings Ensure program standards met Ensure guidelines, risk management and safety issues are adhered to Ensure resources are available to meet Group goals

  8. Commissioner - Program Review Ensure compliance with procedures, policies and standards Using VRAD, review with leaders needs assessments for further development Ensure section reviews are conducted Participate in Group Committee reviews

  9. Ensure Group compliance with screening Be a catalyst for service and achievement recognition Assist Area Commissioner with personnel issues Look for growth opportunities in rising star leaders Commissioner - VRAD Strategy

  13. Administrator - Scope of Role Administer non-program activities and business activities of the Group May assume Chair of meeting as directed by Group Commissioner Ensure compliance with procedures Maintain positive relationships

  14. Administrator - Membership Membership growth & opportunities Assist GC with VRAD process Assist GC with recruitment , orientation and appointment of leaders and Group personnel Promote all 7 program sections Work closely with Registrar to ensure accurate registration process

Administrator - Communications Provide monthly reports on administrative status of Group Be familiar with administrative procedures to support GC in managing Group Assist Secretary to maintain records and minutes of meetings Build positive relationships with Group, Partner and Area Commissioner team

Administrator - Program Support Assist in developing budgets for Group and sections Assist GC with ensuring guidelines, risk management and safety issues are adhered to Identify resources are available to meet Group goals Participate in group and section reviews Coach and mentor other members of Group on non-program related issues

Registrar – Scope of Role Accountable to Group Commissioner Meet with leaders and Group to fill out Group worksheet Organize registration program for returning and new members Be available to answer registration inquiries Using MyScouts (AMS): ensure profiles are up-to-date confirm registrations on renewal or prospective members

Registrar – Scope (con't) Add new members Work with Council office to place all prospective members Confirm all prospective members have been placed and notify GC if not Liaise with leaders as to numbers of youth are realistic Account for membership fees with Group Treasurer Report to GC on membership status

  22. Secretary - Role Accountable to Group Commissioner Effectively record and maintain minutes Compose Group correspondence Work with registrar on registration Prepare for and participate in Group review Provide support to Group members

Treasurer – Scope of Role Accountable to Group Commissioner Encourages and supports participation in National fundraisers Ensures financial compliance with Scouts Canada procedures Record, maintain and plan financial matters of the Group Be one of the signing officers for Group Prepare financial records for team and audit

Treasurer – Scope of Role (con't) Regularly report financial status of group Produce audited statement for release Provide budgeting advice to Group and Sections Main point of contact for fundraising Coach and mentor members on finances Assist GC in preparation of annual Group budget Develop fundraising goals and action plans
