  1. NHAI Takes the Development Projects on Fast-Track Mode The Ministry of Road and Transport is working on a fast-track mode on all the development projects under the Mission 300. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), under the wings of the Minister of Road Transport and Highways Mr. Nitin Gadkari’s tremendous leadership, is planning to complete 300 highway and expressway projects by the end of 2018. The Minister has stated, “The Ministry of Road and Transport along with the NHAI has planned to complete 300-400 road development/construction projects to make the infrastructure of India as one of the major achievements of the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) government. Our original plan is to hit the target of 450 projects, but for now, we ensure that at least 300 are completed.” The completion of these projects will be a huge feat for the NHAI as well as the entire country because this amount of projects have never been completed in such a small span of time. The NHAI’s efforts to accomplish the set target will also serve the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to make India an infrastructural masterpiece for the world. The Minister, Mr Nitin Gadkari, also believes that the Mission 300 will also be one of the major highlights of the current NDA government’s achievements. The Minister will be holding a review meeting with the top officials NHAI and the road and transport ministry along with the other representatives on 11-12 June 2018 in Goa. As of now, the nodal agency of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, NHAI, is working on 416 projects, while around 800 projects are being implemented by the road ministry. In the review meeting, Mr. Gadkari will be taking stock of the progress made on these projects of Rs 100 crore. A senior NHAI official has said that “The Mission 300 has been equally divided between the NHAI and the road ministry. The work has already begun on the plenty of the highway projects, for which the completion dates are between March and April 2019. We are fastening the work of these projects to finish

  2. them by the end of this year itself.” He also said that the early completion of these projects will require the construction of 40km of highway per day. The Mission 300 also includes the ambitious project of Eastern Peripheral Expressway and Phase I of the 14-line Delhi-Meerut Expressway, which worth Rs.11, 000 crore. Both the projects were recently inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under the powerful leadership of the Minister Mr. Nitin Gadkari, the NHAI has already added several feathers to its cap. The NHAI has been instrumental behind India’s spree of infrastructural development; in 2017-18, the NHAI has been awarded 150 road projects, which comprise of 7,400 km, and worth Rs 1.2 trillion. The NHAI also has pocketed India’s largest highway project, Bharatmala, which worth approximately ₹5 trillion. With all these projects in hand and ambition of making India top-class in terms of infrastructure, the NHAI is working with great dedication and hard work.
