  3. How to Use This Template To make your template Save a copy of this file on your computer. In the copy of this file, delete slides 1 through 5. This will leave you with just the last slide in the file, which is the door hanger template itself. Display the guides by clicking on the View Ribbon and selecting Guides. I’ve added guide lines to divide the template of the door hanger in half and keep margins for printing and cutting. The guides show you where to place your content. Guide lines Save the copy, which now has just two slides and Guides turned on.

  4. How to Use This Template • To create your door hanger • Write your text. Rely on your organizational narrativeby calling out your villain and showing readers how they can be the hero by answering your call to action. • Gather or create your diagrams, photos, infographics and other visuals. If you want, check out 29 sources of free stock photography. • Lay out your brochure using these page layout tips. • Maintain consistency with your brand and color palette. • Print on card stock paper. For the door hanger I tested for this project, I used 110-pound paper. • If you want a photo with no border as your background, you may need to trim the edges. Many personal printers can’t print all the way to the edge of the paper. You may need to adjust your guides and margins. • Consider using colored card stock paper. If you do, make sure that your text is easy to read when printed on a colored background. • To produce your brochure • Print your door hanger template on 8.5” x 11” card stock paper. If your design calls for printing on both sides, set your printer for double-sided printing. If your printer doesn’t handle card stock paper or double-sided printing, you may need to go to a print shop like FedEx Office. • Use a paper cutter to cleanly cut your printout in half. If you don’t have a paper cutter, you may need to use one at a print shop like FedEx Office. This is usually free. • With a sharp craft knife, cut along the dotted lines at the top of the hanger. This allows the hanger to hang on a door knob.

  6. Headline Goes Here and Maybe Needs Two Lines Support The Horse Hills Wind Farm Project Call to Action Goes Here Attend The Rally This Saturday Here you tell people the reason you’re on their doorstep. Rely on your organizational narrative by presenting your villain then telling readers how they can be the hero by answering the call to action. Our elected representatives need to know that people like you support making clean, renewable wind energy more available in our community. Join the rally this Saturday at 9 a.m. at the county courthouse. There will be continental breakfast available along with speakers, musicians, and representatives to show you how you can purchase wind power today for your home or business. By law, renewable energy such as wind power must make up 50 percent of our state’s energy by 2025. The Horse Hills Wind Farm helps meet this requirement with affordable, clean energy. We’re expecting TV crews at this event, so signs and costumes are highly encouraged! A photo adds to the visual interest of your door hanger. It can be small and wrapped by text, or provide the background for the entire page. Make sure that your call to action is clear, specific, and easy to follow. Repeat Your Call to Action at the Bottom Attend The Wind Power Rally And Let Your Voice Be Heard!
