  1. CATTON GROVE PRIMARY SCHOOL Striving for Excellence These are the things we are committed to and what we think we do well. If you don’t agree, please tell us and we will try to do them better.

  2. We try hard to develop the curriculum and broaden pupils’ interests through a wide variety of clubs and activities.

  3. We try to focus on success and we value and celebrate pupils’ achievements, however small, both in and out of school in order to develop their confidence and self-esteem.

  4. We try to ensure effective communication with pupils, parents, the community, our governing body and each other

  5. Above all, we try to give the best possible education to all the pupils at CGPS because we believe successful learning opens doors and creates opportunities for everyone.

  6. We try hard to support all pupils recognising that different children have different needs at different times.

  7. We try to listen to what pupils, parents and others have to say before we act.

  8. We try hard to create a safe, secure, stable and supportive environment for pupils to learn and to develop.

  9. We try hard to deliver high quality education by continually revising what we do, by updating our knowledge and understanding of how pupils learn and by finding out about what works well in the classroom.

  10. We are committed to careful, collaborative planning and preparation in order to make lessons interesting, challenging and varied.

  11. We try to co-operate with, support and respect each member of the school community because we believe that these qualities are important to all pupils’ development and growth.

  12. We try to bring humour and a sense of optimism to our work with pupils and we always try to solve problems as quickly as possible.
