  5. Math Text • enVision Math by Scott Foresman • Student website: www.pearsonsuccess.net (username and password will be provided) • Cooperative Learning • Math Folders

  6. Math Cont… • Basic Multiplication Facts need to be memorized. • Tests should be studied for at home (Study guide or page references will be provided.) • Website – Lessons page • Tuesday/Thursday homework

Social Studies Cont… • Study Guides will be provided until January • Unit Tests will be given and closely correlated to the study guides and state curriculum standards. • A Notebook will be required to be updated each week. • A study of Tennessee will be done throughout the year. • Several projects including a major project with a Tennessee theme will be assigned during this school year.

  10. Science Cont… • Students will need a composition notebook. • Vocabulary will be kept in notebook. • Any science homework will be written in your child’s planner. • A study guide will be provided for each test. • The scientist notebook will be a great resource to study for tests.

Homework • Work not completed in class will become homework. • Additional homework assignments • Review sheets from previous lessons will be sent home to reinforce important skills. • Homework is due the following class meeting (unless noted by teacher). • Parents, please go over Tuesday folder work with your child to reinforce skills.

  12. Daily Planners • Daily Planners will be filled out each day. • Each child is responsible for filling out the planner correctly. • Parents, please check and sign planners each evening. • 2 consecutive days unsigned or not completed = 1 offense

  13. Tuesday Folders • Sent home most Tuesdays • Includes work from all subject areas from the previous week. • Look over the papers together for a good review. Keep the papers at home. • Please sign and date and return.

  14. Grading • A: 93-100 • B: 85-92 • C: 75-84 • D: 65-74 • F: 64 and below • 9 weeks grades reflect daily work, graded practice, tests and participation.

  15. K – Keep hands and feet to yourself. N – Never disturb learning. I – If it’s not yours, ask permission. G – Give attention to the speaker. H – Hallway behavior should be orderly. T – Turn in work/folders on time. S – Say and do only kind things. Rules

  16. Classes • Students are ability grouped • Data driven grouping • TCAP Results • STAR Test • Reading Basal Diagnostic Test • Math Text Diagnostic Test • Upcoming Benchmark Tests

  17. 1 offense – 5 minutes off recess 2 offenses – ½ off recess 3 offenses – demerit and isolated lunch 4 offenses – demerit and 2 days isolated lunch 5 offenses – detention Students may be assigned recess detention or afterschool detention for deficiency (missing 3 or more assignments). S Consequences

  18. Incentive Program • Good behavior and work habits will be rewarded. • An Incentive/Reward activity will be earned by meeting each grade levels requirements. • School plan - TBA

  19. Attendance • Notes need to be given to child’s teacher for an excused absence. • Notes MUST be turned in within 3 school days. • After 6 absences, a doctor’s note is required. • Students will be counted tardy after the pledge.
