  1. Future Questions! • What will be our relationship to nature? • What will be our relationship to technology?

  2. What will be our relationship to nature? • Earth is a single ecosystem • We have a whole array of integrated problems • Climate change • Energy • Biodiversity loss • Poverty alleviation • The need to grow enough food to feed the planet

  3. Earth is a single ecosystem • An ecosystem is a biological environment consisting of all the organisms living in a particular area, as well as all the non-living, physical components of the environment with which the organisms interact, such as air, soil, water, and sunlight. • The Earth’s ecosystem has been affected by humans. The serious implications of this have become increasingly apparent. The new generation will feel the consequences more strongly than anyone before. Our generation has to learn about the problems that we have caused and find a solution as soon as possible.

  4. We have a whole array of integrated problems !

  5. Climate change • Climate change is already happening and represents one of the greatest environmental, social and economic threats facing our planet. The Earth’s temperature has risen since the past and that is the cause of CO2 . Some countries have already signed the treaties that face and work on the problems of climate change. That is that they leave all the things behindwhich cause a bad effect on our planet. And they look behind the curtains and use the biggest thing of our generation: “TECHNOLOGY”,that can build and create things, and “MARKETING”,that helps production and sales.

  6. Energy What energy source should we use to protect the Earth? If the population grows, the energy use will increase too, so we need things that use the smallest amount of energy and makes a lot of energy. And of course it does not have any kind of environmental effect. • These are the renewable energies • New ideas in technology

  7. Renewable energies Can we find a solution to clean what’s left of the nuclear plants other than digging it under the ground ?

  8. New ideas in technology Electronic cars Some people say that there will be 2 billions of cars in the future that is a lot and if these cars use fossil fuels, we can say that we killed the planet. But if this changes to an electronic system, we can live in a smog-free planet.

  9. Biodiversity loss • This would lead us to a “dull” world, no animals, no colours. One missing piece of the chain can lead to a destruction to all the living things around us, even our lives. • We would be living in an uncomplicated simple environment that is an easy target for viruses and bacterias.

  10. Poverty Aleviation Population growth is the change in a population over time, and can be quantified as the change in the number of individuals of any species in a population using "per unit time" for measurement. • What does population growth really mean? We are living in a century what is different in growth of population, in life style. This means that we live better, healthier and of course live longer than our forbearers. And the main thing was technology that allowed us to become what we are now.

  11. Here are some graphs thatshow our population growth now and in the future. Chart Countries

  12. So What’s Next ? • Well this chart or diagram what we see here is establishing, and what is more problematic is that the biggest growth comes from the least developed countries. • For me this means that the poorer you are, the less you watch on sexual life and this causes pregnancy and that leads to more babies and more babies lead to population growth. The problem is huge because these people are not clear about the thought that how you can live a normal sexual life. They are not educated well, and even not known of the serious diseases that they can get. But the main problem is that they can’t live a normal life an average life because they don’t have the amount of money what as all we know is important in this world because that is what moves everything we know that with out money we cant buy anything. If we take these people to a normal average life, they would leave the thought of more children and because of the education they would learn about diseases and the small problems of every days life. What can be solved with work and by helping each other.

  13. The need to grow enough food to feed the planet • So far, world agriculture has been able to respond to the rising demand for crop and livestock products. • But it is still a problem and if we don’t do anything it will go just worse. • As the population growth is rising we should rise are agriculture to a higher level. That means use up more lands to harvest more, to feed the population. But using up more land can lead toanother catastrophy: Biodiversity loss. And with that we can make our system much more vulnerable.

  14. What will be our relationship to technology? Overlapping evolutions • Genetics – the intersection of information and biology. • Nanotechnology – the intersection of information and the physical world • Robotics Do we really want these to happen?

  15. Genetics • Genetics will provide that we will never get harmed, if we solve the problem of feeding the human population, and then we can start thinking of immortality. And with genetics this will be possible because we can destroy the codes in the DNA that can make us old, sick or stupid:).

  16. Nanotechnology • Many scientists believe that by 2020 nanotechnology will reach the state of development that it will enable Genetical engineering in biological life forms and robotics to build new materials beyond the electrochemical properties of biological life forms. As such they will allow the information content of life and intellect to be transfered to non-biological forms of technology. this will greatly enhance the development of intelligence as these new technologies are millions of times more effective than our current biological equivalents.

  17. Robotics • Robots will soon be everywhere, they will change the way we live. This will raise many philosophical, social, and political questions that will have to be answered. Robots will decide to take over the world because humans are deemed inferior, they will be able to produce and create just as we do. Likely this can happen in 20 or 30 years. These problems can leadto war between us and the more intelligent creative silicon creatures, the robots.

  18. Next are a few pictures that show the confusion that we are creating with our technologies to our environment and our relationship to nature.

  19. Some pictures of those who live in the poorest places on Earth, or the problems of nature that we have caused.
