We, Citizens of Europe:The way we’re similar, the way we’re different. • Aims of Project • To stress the importance of European Citizenship. • To highlight the fact that although as European citizens we share common cultural, religious and historical traits, our national identities are essential in making us all unique. • To establish international relations with schools in different European countries. 3

We, Citizens of Europe:The way we’re similar, the way we’re different. • Aims of Project/Cont • To encourage and sustain students in their study of various European languages, ICT and multimedia technology • To instil in all participants a better understanding and greater respect towards our European partners and to strengthen the idea that our common European culture is enriched by national diversities. • To encourage pupils and teachers to involve themselves in the preservation of local traditions and to take pride in their region and its unique features worldwide. 4

We, Citizens of Europe:The way we’re similar, the way we’re different Diary of Events • 2nd December 2005 Ms J Micallef together with a number of teachers from our school were invited to a Citizenship festival, organized by the Department of Student Services and International Relations, at the Dolmen Hotel 23

We, Citizens of Europe:The way we’re similar, the way we’re different Diary of Events • 26th January 2006 • 9 students attended a conference organised by Forum Malta discussing the theme “L-Ewropa: Xi Jmiss?”. • The conference was held at the Westin Dragonara. It was addressed by Dr M. Frendo, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr G. Vella Opposition spokesman on EU, and Dr H. Vassallo, Chairperson Alternattiva Demokratika. • Students were accompanied by Ms R Farrell, coordinator, Ms S Briffa (Spring Day in Europe Representative) and Mr R Debono Roberts (European Studies Teacher). 28
