  1. Macbeth Essay Outline

  2. Materials needed • Your outline • A sheet of paper • black or blue pen • red pen

  3. Reminder • If you don’t have your outline, and you don’t have an outline to check, work on your outline during this time. • Three criteria for outlines: • Should show quality of work • Should reflect a thousand words of information • You should be able to hand your outline to someone else, and they would be able to write your essay for you.

  4. Organize: Preparation • Look over your outline • Make sure all of your ideas are organized into paragraphs: Introduction, Body, Conclusion.

  5. Read: 10 minutes • Switch your outline with someone else’s • Write your name on the upper right hand corner of their outline in red pen • Reflect on its organization

  6. Write: 30 minutes (black/blue pen) • On the separate sheet of paper, write your heading on the upper left hand corner • Based on the information given on the outline, write a rough draft of their essay • Write as much as you can, DO NOT try to finish the whole thing • Do not assume or add new information that is not on their outline.

  7. Reflect: Homework • Get your outline and the rough draft created for you from your partner. • Reflect on the rough draft that was created for you. • Fill in any gaps in your outline. • Make any corrections necessary.

  8. Rough Draft 1 due 11/14 • Outlines will be collected on the day the first rough draft is due. • Staple the rough draft created for you to the back of your outline. • Create a rough draft based on your outline. • It should be at least 1000 words, not including your heading or title. • It should be typed. • It should have organized and focused paragraphs.
