  4. According to Rev 7:3, the servants of the living God are sealed on their foreheads. The Seal of God The seal of God = Father’s name = Character of the Father Rev 14:1 shows that they have on their foreheads the name of the Father (NKJV)

  5. What is sealing? Sealing = Settling into the Truth By definition: Sealing is the process of transforming the character of the believer into the likeness of the character of the Father and the Son until it is fixed in the person. “Just as soon as the people of God are sealed in their foreheads--it is not any seal or mark that can be seen, but a settling into the truth, both intellectually and spiritually, so they cannot be moved. . .” SDA Bible Commentary, vol. 4, p. 1161 (1902)

  6. Sealing = Perfecting the Character “Are we striving with all our God-given powers to reach the measure of the stature of men and women in Christ? Are we seeking for His fullness, ever reaching higher and higher, trying to attain to the perfection of His character? . . . “. . . When God's servants reach this point, they will be sealed in their foreheads. The recording angel will declare, "It is done." They will be complete in Him whose they are by creation and by redemption.” Selected Messages, bk. 3, p. 427

  9. Purposes of the Sealing • Performance of a foremost duty “The Holy Spirit is waiting for channels through whom to work . . . Purposes of the Sealing 666 Jesus • Distinguish followers of God from those who are not. “. . .This is what distinguishes them from the disloyal, who have accepted a man-made institution in the place of the true Sabbath. The observance of God’s rest day is the mark of distinction between him that serveth God and him that serveth Him not.” “Those who would have the seal of God in their foreheads must keep the Sabbath of the fourth commandment. . . .   13. Who Will Be Sealed? • Those who have a Christ-like character “The seal of the living God will be placed upon those only who bear a likeness to Christ in character.” Bible Commentary vol. 7, p. 970 (1895)

  14. Who Will Be Sealed? • Those who love and hence obey God “Love is expressed in obedience, and perfect love casts out all fear. Those who love God, have the seal of God in their foreheads, and work the works of God.” Sons and Daughters of God, p. 51

Who Will Be Sealed? • Those that sigh and cry for the abomination done in the church “Those who receive the pure mark of truth, wrought in them by the power of the Holy Ghost, represented by a mark by the man in linen, are those "that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done" in the church. . . “Their love for purity and the honor and glory of God is such, and they have so clear a view of the exceeding sinfulness of sin, that they are represented as being in agony, even sighing and crying.   19. What are the characteristics of those who will be sealed? • They love and hence obey God • They have overcome • They are conscientious Sabbath keepers • They sigh and cry for the abomination done in the church • They have perfected Christ‘s character in them.

Start of the Sealing • After 1844 “I saw that the present test on the Sabbath could not come until the mediation of Jesus in the holy place was finished and He had passed within the second veil; therefore Christians who fell asleep before the door was opened into the most holy, . . . “. . . when the midnight cry was finished, at the seventh month, 1844, and who had not kept the true Sabbath, now rest in hope, for they had not the light and the test on the Sabbath which we now have since that door was opened.” No Sabbath truth, no test.   21. “In 1846, on a visit to New Bedford, Mass., I became acquainted with Bro. Joseph Bates. He was keeping the Sabbath, and urged its importance. I did not feel its importance, and thought that Bro. B. erred in dwelling upon the fourth commandment more than the other nine. . . “. . . But the Lord gave me a vision. I was conducted to the second vail. It was lifted, and I beheld the ark, and on it the mercy-seat. Jesus raised the cover of the ark, and I beheld the tables of stone on which the ten commandments were written. . . “. . .I was amazed as I saw the fourth commandment. A halo of glory was all around it; for it was the only one of the ten which points out to man who the living God is, the maker of heaven and earth.” No Sabbath truth, no test.
