  1. February News Mrs. Barron’s Class Alaina.Perviss@levy.k12.fl.us What Are We Learning? Notes The class is running low on dry erase markers. We are asking for donations of black and blue dry erase markers. We use dry erase makers daily to practice phonics and math skills. Language Arts * Comparing and Contrasting fiction and non-fiction texts (ex. Cinderella Stories) * Synonyms (words that have the same meaning. Small/Tiny) * Reading emergent texts fluently ImportantDates Mathematics * Making 10 (ex. 6+4=10, 5+5=10, 8+2=10, etc.) * Addition and Subtraction Fact Fluency (Facts with Sums up to 5) * Reading emergent texts fluently February 14th- We will be having a small Valentines Day party. Students are welcome to bring Valentines Day cards addressed to their classmates. A class list will be going home when it gets closer. Writing * Writing 4-5 complete connecting sentences and drawing a detailed matching picture. Weekly Homework . Fluency:Time fluency passage and graph results. The goal is not to memorize the passage, but to increase the Monday cold read score each week. Phonics: Don’t forget to do the phonics homework. Spelling Tests are on Friday. Science * Day and Night Sky * Objects size compared to Earth
