  7. Quotations • Always include the author’s last name and the year it was written • If information is from a book, please include the page number! According to Smith (2012), “Students often had difficulty using APA style, especially when it was their first time” (p. 101). She stated, “Students often had difficulty using APA style” (Smith, 2012, p. 101), which has certainly been my experience. Smith's (2012) study found the following:     Students often had difficulty using APA style, especially when it was their first time citing sources. This difficulty could be attributed to the fact that many students failed to check a style manual or to ask their teacher for help. (p. 101)
