  1. Keys To Success, Luke 8:4-8, 11-15 Spreading the Word

  2. The Power Is In The Seed (Word) Isaiah 55:10-11 10 “ For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,       And do not return there,       But water the earth,       And make it bring forth and bud,       That it may give seed to the sower      And bread to the eater, 11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;       It shall not return to Me void,       But it shall accomplish what I please,       And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

  3. The Power Is In The Seed (Word) Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

  4. The Power Is In The Seed (Word) Men are not truly converted by: • Smooth speech • 1 Corinthians 2:1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. • 2 Corinthians 10:10 “For his letters,” they say, “are weighty and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.” • Fancy presentations.

  5. Results depend on the soil. In the Parable of the Sower: • 1 soil resulted in no reaction. (wayside) • 2 only in temporary success. (rocky ground, among thorns) • 1 resulted in a crop (good soil) Who or what’s to blame?

  6. Results depend on the soil. • Ezekiel 3:17-19 • Matthew 10:14-15 And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. 15 Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city! • Acts 13:44-46

  7. We are successful every time we sow the seed! • There is joy in sharing the Good News. • Success should be measured in how many are taught, not how many obey. • Was Jesus a failure? Or Jeremiah? Or Paul?

  8. Remember our place as sower. 1 Corinthians 3:5-7 Who then is Paul, and who isApollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.

  9. The Principle of Sowing And Reaping • 2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. • The Sower had a 25% success rate.

  10. We may not always do the reaping. John 4:35-38 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’ 38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”

  11. We must remember: • The power is in the seed – God’s word. • Results depend on the soil. • Our place as sower. • The principle of sowing and reaping. • We may not do the reaping.

  12. 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
