  23. OmniPCX OmniPCX Logical IP @ ‘X1’ AlcatelOmniPCXEnterprise R6.1 Spatial redundancy : present situation • Com Server redundancy with role addressing Polling + updating Standby role Main role IP Subnet ‘X’ Mirroring IP All the IP devices (Media Gateway, IP Phone, external Servers) seen only one logical IP address : the main IP address Media Gateway Server : Call Control Signaling

  24. OmniPCX OmniPCX AlcatelOmniPCXEnterprise R6.1 Spatial redundancy : present situation • Com Server redundancy with role addressing Polling + updating Main role Main role IP Subnet ‘X’ Mirroring Logical IP @ ‘X1’ IP All the IP devices (Media Gateway, IP Phone, external Servers) seen only one logical IP address : the main IP address The CS switch-over is transparent for the IP devices thanks to the IP role addressing mechanism Media Gateway But the use of IP role addressing implies that both Com Server have to be located in the same IP sub-network and this is too much restrictive when both Communication Server are located in two distinct geographic sites as it imposes conditions : a “bridging” (at Layer 2) between both IP subnets is mandatory and the IP subnet routers must be able to broadcast the right routes. Due to their architecture, some customers cannot accept these conditions. Server : Call Control Signaling

  25. OmniPCX OmniPCX AlcatelOmniPCXEnterprise R6.1 Spatial redundancy : dual IP subnet • Com Server redundancy with dual IP subnet Polling + updating Standby role Main role IP Subnet ‘X’ IP Subnet ‘Y’ Mirroring IP @ ‘Y1’ IP @ ‘X1’ IP All the IP devices (Media Gateway, IP Phone, external Servers) have to be able to address 2 IP @ The CS switch-over is transparent for the IP devices Server : Call Control Signaling

  26. OmniPCX OmniPCX AlcatelOmniPCXEnterprise R6.1 Spatial redundancy : dual IP subnet • Com Server redundancy with dual IP subnet Polling + updating Main role Main role IP Subnet ‘X’ IP Subnet ‘Y’ Mirroring IP IP @ ‘Y1’ All the IP devices (Media Gateway, IP Phone, external Servers) have to be able to address 2 logical IP @ for main role The CS switch-over is transparent for the IP devices To establish an IP link, the IP device set a request on both logical IP address, the CPU in main role is those which answer to the request. Server : Call Control Signaling

  27. AlcatelOmniPCXEnterprise R6.1 Spatial redundancy : dual IP subnet • design rules … • The spatial redundancy in dual IP subnets is supported by following • IP devices : • IP media Gateways • IP Touch 40x8 range • Except e-reflexes range & Wifi equipments • Applications : • 4645/4635 • 4760i/4760 • OT Contact Center : CCD/CCS • XML Web services • « XML IP Touch » third party applications • ACAPI V2.1 • Except • Genesys applications (CCemail, CCoutband, CCivr, Cca, CCweb) • RSI Synchro Server • OT Unified Communication

  28. Automatic Private/Public voice Overflow Business Continuity AlcatelOmniPCXEnterprise R6.1 Private to public voice overflow: current situation • Automatic Overflow of communications in distributed architecture • Cost optimized branch office server • Small Branch Office solution in R6.0 • PSTN access needed in the BO • Automatic overflow : • public caller ID instead of private HQ Media Gateway Main OmniPCX Enterprise WAN/LAN Stand Bye Distributed architecture OmniPCX Enterprise PSTN / ISDN OmniPCX Enterprise

  29. Centralized architecture Communications over PSTN/ISDN Back-up signaling OmniPCX Enterprise OmniPCX Enterprise Media Gateway Media Gateway AlcatelOmniPCXEnterprise R6.1 Private to public voice overflow: current situation • In centralized architecture using common hardware media gateways, back-up signaling but no overflow of communications • Solution independent from data network • Using Backup Signaling Link • PSTN access needed in the branch office • Outgoing call is established manually by the caller which must know the public number of the callee. PSTN / ISDN HQ Main WAN/LAN Stand Bye

  30. Automatic overflow of communications over PSTN/ISDN OmniPCX Enterprise Media Gateway Media Gateway Business Continuity AlcatelOmniPCXEnterprise R6.1 Private to public voice overflow : automatic overflow overflow • With 6.1, automatic overflow of communications in centralized architecture using common hardware media-gateways • In case of IP network failure the call is re-routed on public network to reach the called party : • The call server detects a failure on IP network. A back up signaling is established and then after checking barring of the calling party, any outgoing call is automatically re-routed and established via the public network. So the internal number of the called party is translated to a public number. • For attendants sets, the feature is always accessible • For others kind of set, “Overflow from private to public” barring is used. • The calling party is informed on his set when the overflow is used. • Apply for incoming or outgoing calls in restricted mode • The feature includes CAC overflow • When the maximum number of simultaneous incoming or outgoing calls on one site is reached (CAC satured), if configured, the overflow on public network is automatically put in place for any new calls. Back-up signaling PSTN / ISDN HQ Main WAN/LAN Centralized architecture

  31. AlcatelOmniPCXEnterprise R6.1 Hardware evolution Release presentation

  32. AlcatelOmniPCXEnterprise R6.1 hardware evolution : ACT-CH8 1/4 • ACT-CH8 shelf • New shelf with a new back panel and a new Power Supply designed to use existing common hardware boards and to fit into existing M2 and M3 cabinets of Crystal hardware. • 8 slots are dedicated for common hardware boards and 1 slot for the converter board.Boards are plugged in standing position (including the new power supply) into the ACT-CH8 shelf. • Interconnection between Crystal boards and CH boards is provided by : • INTGD board based on INTOF2 architecture and design • RGD board which is an adaptation of GD board to take into account the synchronization issues between CH and Crystal shelves via HSL. • HSL link (INTGD/RGD-5M cable) • Power Supply board (PC04) is connected on the 48 V provided by Crystal cabinet (DC/DC converter)

  33. Common hardware boards PCO4 RGD with HSL ACTCH8 shelf INTGD/RGD cable : HSL link INTGD : INTOF2 Crystal shelf 6U (ACT14) M2 crystal cabinet AlcatelOmniPCXEnterprise R6.1 hardware evolution : ACT-CH8 2/4

  35. AlcatelOmniPCXEnterprise R6.1 hardware evolution : ACT-CH8 4/4 • List of boards plugged in the ACT-CH8

  36. AlcatelOmniPCXEnterprise R6.1 hardware evolution : INTOF2 1/2 • INTOF2 supports two main functions : • One called INTOF2 replacing former INTOF to connect main Crystal cabinet and its peripherals or Crystal nodes together. • INTOF2 & INTOF are fully compatible on a same Crystal system • Same type of board ( INTOF or INTOF2) must be used when they are in opposite side : • INTOFA INTOFB, INTOF2A INTOF2B, INTOF2S INTOF2S, … • One called INTGD to connect Crystal ACT & ACT-CH8 to allow to expand Crystal with common hardware boards • INTGD can be located at any slot of Crystal cabinet • Its peer in ACT-CH8 is a RGD board both connected through a HSL link : • INTOF2 RGD • INTGD allows the clock synchronization between the Crystal and the ACT-CH8 cabinets • Type of boards defined using MAO
