  8. Consider the Community Perspective • Take the community perspective when working with communities. Take the aviation hat off. Put the neighbor hat on. • Don’t try to win them over. Become an advocate of community priorities. • Communicate and educate. Listen and learn. • Build strong alliance with business, industry, agriculture, environmental, and open space advocates

  9. Conclusions • Even good neighbors have needs and aspirations • Considering the “other side” has real advantages • There is always common ground, even among seeming adversaries • Use intermediaries to intervene when needed
