Why ABBIF ? • Species and specimen data from from samples collected in the Amazon Basin are not available on-line • Need to address the knowledge gaps (taxonomic and biogeographic) with 21st century technology (information society) • With promotion of South-South Cooperation, and • Capacity building !!!
