  2. 3 1 Key Message Ideas 2 Overview of SMART Objectives (For AGCA Community and Fishers) • I feel I am recognized and respected in out community for I report Intrusions in the NTZ • I can protect our NTZ therefore I am capable of providing fish for my family today and tomorrow. • Our NTZ is a sacred ground for us and it is our spiritual and moral duty to protect it from intruders. Messaging Strategy Increase in number of AGCA community residents and fishers that are: -AGCA Community are aware about the benefits of strictly enforced MPA -believe that AGCA Sanctuary rules and regulations need to be followed to gain economic and ecological benefit (A) -believe that they can do something to reduce illegal fishing activities -discussing with one another the consequence of breaking AGCA Marine Sanctuary rules and regulations and discussing with one another the benefits of strictly enforced and conscientiously managed MPA. -Reporting intrusion in the NTZ to the enforcement team (BC) -AGCA fishers follow rules and regulation by fishing outside the NTZ (BC) I will participate in guarding our AGCA Marine Sanctuary by reporting intrusions inside the NTZ instead of being apathetic, by doing this I will be recognized and respected by my peers; our LGU and priests, says it is important to do it as responsible father to my children and as good steward of God’s creation; and there are financial and in-kind incentives. Support Points • Bibles passage says, Respecting our God’s creation (NTZ) is an act of adoring God. • Majority knows that intrusion is prohibited inside the sanctuary but there are still some intrusions and only 25% of the community said they heard anyone reporting someone breaking the sanctuary rules. • There are financial and in-kind incentives to be given to those who will be reporting .
