  6. Who are we to God? How does he see us?

  7. “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” – Romans 3:23 We are not worthy of a pardon.

  8. “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done so none of us can boast about it.” – Ephesians 2:8-9 We can’t earn a pardon

  9. “Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God.” - 1 Peter 3:18 Our Pardon is paid for by Jesus

  10. “My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins – and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.” – 1 John 2:1-2 We are pardoned in Christ.

  11. We are not worthy • God loved us so much that he sent Jesus to die in our place • Jesus was worthy • Our worthiness depends on him • We are then worthy in the eyes of God and this is all that matters.
