WHIRLWIND: HURRICANE, STORM, TEMPEST READ: JOB 37:9-13 9 From the chamber of the south comes the whirlwind And cold from the scattering winds of the north. 10 By the breath of God ice is given And the broad waters are frozen. 11 Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds. He scatters His bright clouds. 12 They swirl about, being turned by His guidance, That they may do whatever He commands them On the face of the whole earth. 13 He causes it to come, Whether for correction, Or for His land, Or for mercy. Even today I declare That I will restore double to you. 13 I have bent Judah, My bow and I have fitted the bow with Ephraim. I have raised up your sons, O Zion, Against your sons, O Greece And I made you like the sword of a mighty man. 14 The LORD will be seen over them And His arrow will go forth like lightning. The Lord GOD will blow the trumpet And go with whirlwinds from the south. NKJV

READ: NUMBERS 21:4-5 4 They journeyed from Mount Hor by the Way of the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom. And the soul of the people became very discouraged on the way. 5 The people spoke against God and against Moses: Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water and our soul loathes this worthless bread. NKJV READ: DEUTERONOMY 1:19 19 We departed from Horeb and went through all that great and terrible wildernesswhich you saw on the way to the mountains of the Amorites, as the LORD our God had commanded us. READ: 2 CHRONICLES 36:9-10 9 Jehoiachin was eight years old when he became king and he reigned in Jerusalem three months and ten days. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD. 10 At the turn of the year King Nebuchadnezzar summoned him and took him to Babylon, with the costly articles from the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah, Jehoiakim's brother, king over Judah and Jerusalem. The king's mother, the king's wives, his officers, and the mighty of the land he carried into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon. 16 All the valiant men, seven thousand, and craftsmen and smiths, one thousand, all who were strong and fit for war, these the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon. NKJV READ: DANIEL 4:29-30 29 At the end of the twelve months Nebuchadnezzar was walking about the royal palace of Babylon. 30 The king spoke, saying, “Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?” NKJV

READ: DANIEL 5:1-3 1 Belshazzar the king made a great feast for a thousand of his lords and drank wine in the presence of the thousand. 2 While he tasted the wine, Belshazzar gave the command to bring the gold and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple which had been in Jerusalem, that the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines might drink from them. 3 They brought the gold vessels that had been taken from the temple of the house of God which had been in Jerusalem. And the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines drank from them. 30 That night Belshazzar , king of the Chaldeans, was slain. 31 And Darius the Mede received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old. READ: DANIEL 8:1-3 VISION OF A RAM AND A GOAT 1 In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar a vision appeared to me — to me, Daniel — after the one that appeared to me the first time. 2 I saw in the vision and it so happened while I was looking that I was in Shushan, the citadel, which is in the province of Elam. I saw in the vision that I was by the River Ulai. NKJV

READ: 2 KINGS 17:6 6 In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria took Samaria and carried Israel away to Assyria. MENE: God has numbered your kingdom and finished it; 27 TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting; 28 PERES: Your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians. Arise, you princes, Anoint the shield!

WHY SET A WATCHMAN IN THE TOWER? WHY ANOINT THEIR SHIELDS?

READ: GENESIS 3:16 16 To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception. In pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be for your husband And he shall rule over you.” NKJV WAS MAN EVER IN LABOR WITH CHILD? READ: JEREMIAH 30:5-7 5 For Thus says the LORD: ‘We have heard a voice of trembling, Of fear, and not of peace.’ 6 ‘Ask now and see, Whether a man is ever in labor with child? So why do I see every man with his hands on his loins Like a woman in labor, And all faces turned pale?’ 7 ‘Alas! For that day is great, So that none is like it. It is the time of Jacob's trouble, But he shall be saved out of it.’ NKJV

I was distressed when I heard it; I was dismayed when I saw it. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MIGHTY MEN OF MOAB? LIKE A WOMAN IN LABOR? READ: JEREMIAH 48:40-41 40 One shall fly like an eagle And spread his wings over Moab. 41 Kerioth is taken And the strongholds are surprised. The mighty men's hearts in Moab on that day shall be Like the heart of a woman in birth pangs. READ: JEREMIAH 49:21-22 21 The earth shakes at the noise of their fall. At the cry its noise is heard at the Red Sea. 22 He shall come up and fly like the eagle And spread His wings over Bozrah. The heart of the mighty men of Edom in that day shall be Like the heart of a woman in birth pangs. NKJV

READ: DANIEL 5:1-9 1 Belshazzar the king made a great feast for a thousand of his lords and drank wine in the presence of the thousand. 2 While he tasted the wine, Belshazzar gave the command to bring the gold and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple which had been in Jerusalem, that the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines might drink from them. 6 The king's countenance changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his hips were loosened and his knees knocked against each other. 9 King Belshazzar was greatly troubled, his countenance was changed, and his lords were astonished. As for the light of my eyes, it also has gone from me. NKJV READ: PSALMS 55:4-5 4 My heart is severely pained within me And the terrors of death have fallen upon me. 5 Fearfulness and trembling have come upon me And horror has overwhelmed me. NKJV

His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And all dominions shall serve and obey Him. 28 This is the end of the account. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts greatly troubled me and my countenance changed. But I kept the matter in my heart. NKJV READ: DANIEL 8:26-27 26 The vision of the evenings and morningsWhich was told is true. Seal up the vision, For it refers to many days in the future. 27 I, Daniel, fainted and was sick for days. Afterward I arose and went about the king's business. I was astonished by the vision, but no one understood it. NKJV

READ: DANIEL 10:10-17 10 Suddenly, a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands. 11 He said to me, “O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you and stand upright for I have now been sent to you.” While he was speaking this word to me, I stood trembling. 12 He said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard. And I have come because of your words.” 13 “The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days. Behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me. For I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.”

I opened my mouth and spoke, saying to him who stood before me, “My lord, because of the vision my sorrows have overwhelmed me and I have retained no strength.” 17 “How can this servant of my lord talk with you, my lord? As for me, no strength remains in me now, nor is any breath left in me.”

READ: PSALMS 23 1 The LORD is my shepherd. I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul. He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. 4 Yea, Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil For You are with me. Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil and My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.

I will make them drunk That they may rejoice And sleep a perpetual sleep And not awake,” says the LORD. 40 “I will bring them down Like lambs to the slaughter, Like rams with male goats.” NKJV

They shall sleep a perpetual sleep And not awake,: says the King, Whose name is the LORD of hosts. READ: NAHUM 3:11 11 You will be drunk. You will be hidden And You also will seek refuge from the enemy. NKJV

READ: JEREMIAH 51:12 12 Set up the standard on the walls of Babylon. Make the guard strong. Set up the watchmen, Prepare the ambushes. For the LORD has both devised and done What He spoke against the inhabitants of Babylon. NKJV

WHO DID DAVID SAY GUARDS THE CITY? THE LORD? READ: PSALMS 127:1-2 1 Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it. Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain. 2 It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows. For so He gives His beloved sleep. NKJV READ: HOSEA 9:8 8 The watchman of Ephraim is with my God. But the prophet is a fowler's snare in all his ways. NKJV

READ: EZEKIEL 3:16-19 16 It came to pass at the end of seven days that the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me.” 18 “When I say to the wicked, You shall surely die and you give him no warning nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, That same wicked man shall die in his iniquity. But his blood I will require at your hand.” 19 “Yet, if you warn the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness nor from his wicked way, He shall die in his iniquity; But you have delivered your soul.” NKJV

READ: EZEKIEL 33:1-9 1 Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, speak to the children of your people and say to them: When I bring the sword upon a land and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman,” 3 “When he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people,” 4 “Then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head.” 5 “He heard the sound of the trumpet but did not take warning; His blood shall be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life.”

And the people are not warned and the sword comes and takes any person from among them. He is taken away in his iniquity.
