To download notes that accompany the slides, you must have MS PowerPoint on your PC: • Click File • Click “Save As” [and save to your PC, in a folder and location of your choice] • Locate the PowerPoint you just saved on your PC, and open it from within PowerPoint • In PowerPoint, click “View” • Click “Notes Page” [and you can now get to the notes] Note: Permission is granted to you to use the Notes verbatim to lecture from, or, you may edit or replace them Sally Carroll

  3. Click on the “Clinical Students Only” folder

  4. Click on the “NNN” icon

  5. Click on “Click to Continue”

  6. Click on an icon of your choice NOC outcomes -entry NIC interventions - entry NANDA diagnoses -entry

  7. Building a Care Plan by Diagnosis: NANDA

  8. Type a name for your Care Plan in the box

  9. For example, “J.D.3”

  10. Highlight a NANDA Diagnosis and double-click it

  11. Diagnosis now has moved from right side to left

  12. And then, click “Select Outcomes”

  13. Checkmark the appropriate outcome(s)

  14. Will a performance indicator be required or not?

  15. Leave default to “Required”

  16. Then, click “Select Indicators”

  17. Checkmark appropriate Indicators

  18. Select the “success” level for the indicator

  19. Checkmark “Other” and type in each indicator, followed with initial and final responses. Click OK.

  20. Initial Response (IR) = 2Final Response (FR) = 5

  21. Select the FINAL RESPONSE (FR) for each “Other” Indicator

  22. When ready,click “Select Interventions”

  23. You will be prompted to select indicators for each diagnosis and outcome. At this prompt, click OK.

  24. Remember: For each indicator, select a goal achievement “level” Level Indicator

  25. When through selecting indicators and “levels,” click on “Select Interventions”

  26. Next step is to select nursing intervention(s) for outcome(s)

  27. Then, click “Select Activities”

  28. Checkmark the “Activity” for “Intervention(s)” that pertain to Outcome, “Respiratory Status: Airway Patency.” Type in your implementation and evaluation below.

  29. Type your notes for Implementation and Evaluation

  30. Click “Activities Selected” when ready

  31. When you see this, you’re ready to print your Care Plan.

  32. Click the “Preview/Print” button to view before printing

  33. Notice your file name. Change “100%” to “Whole Page”

  34. Now, you can see the total number of pages in your Care Plan

  35. Click the print icon

  37. To see the “Tree” Outline, click “View Care Plan”

  38. “Tree” Outline

  39. Green light = Complete Care Plan

  40. Red light = Incomplete Care Plan.Click “View Care Plan” to locate missing item(s)

  43. To save, click “File,” then “Save Care Plan As”

  44. Save to PC or to Floppy

  46. “Copy and Paste” the NANDA Diagnosis and Definitionfrom NNN Linkages to your Nursing Care Plan Sheet. Add your Subjective and Objective patient data.

  47. NOC Goals and Definitions

  48. Right click on the outcome to read the NOC definition

  49. Highlight, then right click, the definition. Highlight “Copy” and go to your Care Plan Sheet
