  3. BBS大史记 • 经过十多年的发展，BBS已经成长为华人互联网的重要组成部分。

  4. 石器时代 (1990-1995) • 发源于美国 • Pirate/Eagle BBS • 传播到东亚和东南亚地区 • Firebird 系列, Maple 2.0 • 大陆互联网处于萌芽阶段 • 1994 年中国正式接入Internet

  5. 石器时代(续) • 运行于Unix下面的命令行程序 • 设置为bbs用户 shell • 用户通过telnet访问 • 代码不考虑性能 • 线性扫描数组 • genbuf, genbuf1, genbuf2… • 功能比较单一 • 版面，精华区，即时消息，聊天室

  6. 青铜时代(1995-1999) • BBS 在 CERNET 缓慢发展壮大 • 中科院曙光站(1994.5) • CERNET主干建成(1995) • 主要使用Firebird BBS系统 • Firebird 2.0 (台湾中正资工) • Firebird 2.5/2.6(马来西亚台湾同学会)

  8. 青铜时代(续) • 大站一统天下 • 学校级别BBS,地区网络中心 • 技术方面乏善可陈 • 大陆计算机水平处于落后地位 • 很少人能接触到类Unix系统 • Linux尚未流行，本身也有很多兼容问题 • 对BBS的修改多集中在零碎功能上 • 从台湾借鉴来一些修改 • 各站点的修改都没有发布

  9. 青铜时代(续) • 技术改进 • bbs2www(SJTU,only) • 培养了一批bbs和Unix/Linux系统的爱好者，这些人成为后来大陆bbs事业的中坚力量。

  12. 黄金时代(续) • 技术突破 • 去掉了对pty的依赖，bbsd直接监听端口 • 大陆和台湾几乎同时独立实现 • 各种中小型站点纷纷涌现 • Linux的普及，硬件产品的降价 • 早期培养出的BBS爱好者 • BBS专用客户端 • Cterm(clayman), sterm(pred),fterm(fuse)
