  2. History NSSED has one intern at Glenview School District 34. Glenview School District 34 has supported an NSSED School Psychology Intern since 2008. Yearly Stipend: $20,000 • The intern also receives full benefits • The intern is included in beginning of the year activities and the new staff orientation at NSSED to integrate into the site. • NSSED has a strong history of retaining ISPIC program completers within the cooperative or member districts and supporting their post-doctoral pursuits.

  3. Intern’s typical week of training (include summer if different than academic year; can focus on this year’s intern if you like) A typical week: 3 days in a Glenviewschool, 1 day in NSSED coaching activities, and one flexible day per week. 2 hours direct supervision with licensed psychologist 2 hours direct supervision with certified school psychologist 12 hours direct service (e.g., individual/group therapy, individual/group intervention) 12 hours indirect service (e.g., individual/systems level consultation, meetings) 4 hours report writing and other paperwork responsibilities 3 hours professional development activities 3 hours prep time (e.g., intervention planning, research, case notes)

  4. Demographics – Glenview School District 34 is a suburban area north of Chicago. The district has 4,888 students. Of these students, 64% are White, 17% are Asian, 13% are Hispanic, 3% are Multiracial, and 2% are Black. The district serves students from low income households (25% of the population) and students with limited English proficiency (14% of the population).

Intern’s typical week of supervision During a typical week of supervision, the intern receives 2 hours of direct supervision with a licensed psychologist and 2 hours of direct supervision with a certified school psychologist. Outside of regularly scheduled times, supervisors are accessible as they are typically in the same building as the intern. When the supervisor is not in the same building as the intern, supervision is accessed through email and phone. The licensed clinical psychologist is the supervisor in the middle school rotation and the certified school psychologist is the supervisor during the NSSED rotation.

  8. Supervision Supervision takes place in the supervisor’s office. Supervision notes are saved in Google Drive.

  9. Main Office The main office of every school in Glenview has two administrative assistants and the principal’s office. Student files are kept in a separate, locked room. NSSED administrative building has one office support staff who support employees in answering questions, accessing supplies, and providing materials.

  10. Materials The intern has access to resources such as books, testing manuals, testing equipment (e.g., WISC-V, WIAT-III, Wechsler Nonverbal Scale of Ability), and therapy resources (e.g., books on mindfulness, social skills).

  11. Equipment The intern shares an office with the supervisor and other student service team members. The intern is provided with personal space for working in the shared office as well asother flexible spaces in the buildings throughout the district. The intern has access to a phone, wireless internet, testing equipment, and books.

  12. Clerical Support The intern has access to the copiers, fax machine, scanner, email address, and administrative assistants.

  13. Classroom The elementary school class size average is 21 students. The average class size at themiddle school is 26 students.
