  3. Nonvascular Plants • Grow close to the ground. • Absorb water directly from the ground. • May grow just a few centimeters tall.

  4. Vascular Plants • No size limits • Tubes transport water and nutrients to various parts of the plant. • Can be seed plants or seedless.

  6. Seedless Plants • Reproduce by spores • A single cell with a tough outer covering. • Creates a new plant exactly like the one that produced it.

  7. Seed Plants • Seeds contain the undeveloped plant, stored food, and a protective covering. • The covering keeps the seed from getting dried out or damaged. • The stored food is used to help the plant grow and develop. • Can be flowering plants or non-flowering.
