  6. REPORT CARDS & INTERIM GRADES: • OCT. 12th -- 1st 9 wks. (Report cards Oct. 26 - after fall break) • Nov. 16th interim • Jan. 11th - Mail Fall term report cards

  7. HELP FOR STRUGGLING STUDENTS: • Contact Teacher • E-mail (address found on Web Site) • Telephone (contact counselor) • Tutoring • Most ACHS teachers before and/or after school • Remediation time during Advisor • Parent Conferences

  13. Take the PSAT • Given on Wednesday, Oct 31 • Cost - $15.00 • Sign up with Sandra Brown in Guidance by Oct 12 • Sophomores practice SAT • Juniors – National Merit qualifier

  14. Take the PLAN(Pre ACT) • Given during 1st and 2nd Block • Tuesday, October 2 • WILL BE GIVEN TO ALL SOPHOMORES • Score report —projected ACT & skills to work; we will discuss scores when received http://www.actstudent.org/plan/

  15. DUAL ENROLLMENT • High School & College Credit for Jrs. & Srs. • Must have 3.0 GPA & 19 in reading on ACT* or PLAN • Lottery Scholarship will pay most of tuition cost *Spring and Summer ACT available

  16. LOTTERY SCHOLARSHIPS • HOPE • 3.00 GPA OR 21 ACT • $4,000 4-yr. or $2,000 2-yr. • +$1,000 3.75 GPA & 29 ACT OR + $1,500 if AGI < $36,000 • WILDER-NAIFEH • $2,000 to Any TN resident to a Tennessee Technology Center

Driver’s Permit forms • Also known as Certification of Compulsory School Attendance • Sign up in the guidance office • Allow 24 hours • Check for grades and attendance • Must pass 3 of 4 subjects in the last grade term • Must have acceptable attendance – according to state guidelines • No permit forms will be given during the summer

  20. Driver’s License Driving test is no longer given on a walk-in basis. You must call and make an appointment at the TN license testing center @ 457-3958.
